JSG Metering Solutions LTD

Solar Generation Meter

JSG Metering stocks a large range of single phase & three phase meters, these meters support import export generation meaning they can be used on any solar PV system for measuring energy sent back to the grid.

If you generate renewable electricity in your home or business, you can feed back into the grid any electricity that you don't use. Under the Smart Export Guarantee ( SEG ) you will be paid for every unit of electricity that you feed back. You won't be paid for any that you use yourself.

JSG Metering Solutions Solar PV Explaination On How A PV System Works With A PV Panel Installation

How it works

You're likely most familiar with PV, which is utilized in solar panels. When the sun shines onto a solar panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel. This energy creates electrical charges that move in response to an internal electrical field in the cell, causing electricity to flow.

Excess solar generated energy can be used in different ways, if you have an energy storage system you can store this excess electric to use at a high peak moment. Alternatively you can sell excess energy back to the national grid, you can be remunerated anywhere from £0.06p to £0.09p per kWh depending on who your energy provider is.
